Barthélémy Dias realizes an old complaint


For some time now, the city of Dakar has been laying the foundations and launching works across the capital with the aim of improving and modernizing the lives of Dakar residents. Indeed, Mayor Barthélémy Dias, accompanied by a large delegation, laid the foundation stone of the Grand Dakar High School. Infrastructure of the latest generation that came at the right time to respond to the municipal education program that strives for excellence, according to the mayor of the commune, Jean Baptiste Diouf. The latter praised and welcomed the commitment of Mayor Barthélémy Dias for the creation of this building that is so prestigious for the city and children.

“I welcome all the authorities gathered here today for the laying of the first stone of the Lycée de Grand Dakar. I would like to pay a colorful tribute to the mayor of the city of Dakar, Barthélémy Dias. I congratulate him on his recent appointment as head of the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF),” said Mayor Jean Baptiste Diouf.

Since coming to the head of the municipality, the councilor of Grand Dakar has made education a priority.

“In the municipality of Grand Dakar, we have made education a top priority. Quality education for the development of our community. We introduced free education and school supplies. Subsidies for enhanced teaching to raise the level of students,” he explains.

Continuing, he is delighted with the municipality’s results.

“Significant and significant effects have been noted. Increasing the education of young girls. The degree of academic success has increased from 38% to 80%,” he reveals.

In addition, for the mayor of the municipality of Grand-Dakar, Jean Baptiste Diouf, the high school must be a modern school of excellence that must train engineers and students capable of development in the field of artificial intelligence.

The mayor of Dakar, Barthélémy Dias, at the beginning of his address emphasized his commitment to education.

“I would like to express to you the honor and happiness I feel for this day dedicated to the start of construction work on the new high school in the Grand-Dakar district. This day is an important moment that will be recorded in the annals of our community’s achievements. It marks the beginning of the materialization of a need passionately expressed by the entire educational community of Grand-Dakar,” he announces.

“Starting work on this future high school is a decisive milestone in the realization of the vision that dictates our behavior. This consists of ensuring that all actions we undertake contribute to the satisfaction of essential and fundamental human rights. Having quality human capital is the basis for the development of any nation,” says Mayor Barthélémy Dias.

This secondary school, which wants to be modern, will adapt to the prototype of new institutions as recommended by the Department of School Construction. All benefits related to academic well-being and the smooth running of classes will take into account the development of the user and the success of the student.

This project will provide the Grand-Dakar district with a modern and functional facility that will include: – 3 educational blocks with a total of 36 classrooms, capable of accommodating approximately 1,500 students. State-of-the-art facilities for teaching scientific subjects, arts, languages ​​and sports; administrative block; documentation and information center, laboratories; two multipurpose fields and a gatehouse for security.

“Therefore, I hope that the efforts made will contribute to a significant improvement in the working and learning conditions of the future school population of Grand-Dakar High School”, concludes Mayor Barthélémy Dias.
