A new rain episode concerns Guadeloupe this Thursday. Heavy showers are expected in most of the country. Météo France has therefore put the archipelago on yellow alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms.
Bulletin for this Thursday morning (May 23, 2024)
current situation
Moderate, moist and unstable trade winds affect the archipelago today. Light to moderate showers are currently circulating in this trade wind.
Forecasts
During the morning the showers will get stronger and stronger. They will be retaining walls, especially in Basse-Terre, Marie-Galante and the western half of Grande-Terre. A thunderbolt is not ruled out either. Showers will last into the early part of the night before easing. Accumulated precipitation in 6 hours of 70 to 90 mm is possible over Basse-Terre. Possible in Marie-Galante and West Grande-Terre of 50 to 60 mm very locally.
