Residents were saddened to learn of the death of Bernard Drouaillet, who died on June 8. Born on January 9, 1932 in Dijon, he had a brother (unfortunately died very young) and a sister (died at retirement age). He studied butchery and hairdressing, and thus was able to take over the family business in Dijon when his parents retired.
Bernard Drouaillet then met Marie-Georgette Avray, whom he married and with whom he had the pleasure of welcoming twins: Isabelle and Fabien, 1.this one June 1963, which he will protect with kindness.
When he retired, Bernard Drouaillet decided to settle in Esnoms-au-Val, where he already regularly visited every weekend.
There he developed a small angora rabbit breeding business. His children, who were very present with him to support him, allowed him to end his life as he wanted: in his house in Esnoms-au-Val, with the help of his domestic help and the kindness of his friends.
Epicurean, passionate about cooking, Bernard Drouaillet was a devoted volunteer at the Foyer rural d’Esnoms and Cabane des secrets, with whom he shared his passion for meat products, especially during the “pig meal”. Bouilleurs de cru d’Esnoms will also miss one of their passionate members. In addition, he was also part of ACVA (Association of Classic Car Collectors) and as such participated in various trips of the association, in his gray 504 Peugeot. Bernard Drouaillet was also a music lover who loved to listen to classical music and jazz for hours.
Bernard Drouaillet, whose health was deteriorating, was recently hospitalized in Langres, where he died peacefully, surrounded by the love of his children.
His funeral will take place on Thursday, June 13, in Esnoms-au-Val.
Our condolences to his family.
