Madeleine Gendre died on Tuesday, May 28 at the age of 91. Born on July 30, 1932, she was the fourth of five children born to Geneviève and Justin Minot in Troischamps. On May 8, 1963, she married Maurice Gendre and settled in Montigny-le-Roi on the family farm.
Three children were born to their union: Luc, Véronique and Emmanuelle. Seven grandchildren filled her with happiness. Dynamic and enterprising, complementary to Maurice, together they built an agricultural facility outside the village to develop their farm.
Madeleine was a hard worker. Very hospitable, she provided multiple services and was always available. An outstanding cook, she loved to receive, take her time and be in a good mood. Making jams, jams and wine was no secret for her. Generous, Madeleine loved to share it with those around her.
She was passionate about gardening, especially flowers, which she loved to make bouquets of. For many years it also decorated the Montigny church.
When she was retired, Madeleine loved to travel with Maurice. A pilgrimage to La Salette with her grandchildren or sisters marked many of her summers.
Madeleine lived through the painful ordeal of losing her two grandchildren and her husband. She remained true to herself, always attentive and caring towards every member of her family.
Due to her loss of autonomy, Madeleine was fortunate to be well surrounded by caring professionals and friends who allowed her to age well in her own home.
Valuable help was provided by his son Luc and grandson Loris. She also spent time talking on the phone to catch up on each other’s news.
Madeleine will be remembered by those around her as a brilliant person.
The religious ceremony was held this Saturday, 1this one June, in the church of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine, in Montigny-le-Roi. Our condolences to his family.
