This Tuesday, May 21st, Landos High School parents launched the college’s Day of the Dead. By not sending their children to class, parents of high school students protested against the so-called “Knowledge Shock” reform.
Empty playground and abandoned classes. This Tuesday was particularly quiet.
Parents were asked not to send their child to college. An unprecedented boycott which is quite against the usual philosophy of RLS College.
But great evils come with great means. And thanks to this action, parents intend to protest against the reform.
“We made the decision to participate in this action after consultation during the meeting on Monday, May 6, explain the parents who ask questions about the future of their children and continue with this reform of mutual aid and diversity when it is precisely this diversity that allows students to climb to the top.” They believe that the reform will only “stigmatize students with difficulties. It will not be possible to change the level during the year, the same group in mathematics and French, this will prevent the children’s progress.
RLS College is also affected by the abolition of the post of CPE and the reduction of the presence of a nurse to one day per week “which risks degrading the school climate, especially since the opening of the ULIS system is planned for the start of the school year in September.
Meanwhile, “other promotions will be announced in the coming days and weeks.”
