Papa Gora, an inspiring journey of an artist without borders

In 2018, Papa Gora released his first mixtape “HOPE” (Home Of People Everywhere). This 12-song project, based in a village in West Africa, raised his profile in the Cincinnati music community, allowing him to perform more than 100 shows that year.

The following year, he released “It’s Gonna Cost You”, whose single “Mental” became his most popular song to date. This growing recognition opened the doors to big stages for him, where he had the opportunity to open doors for renowned artists such as Burna Boy, Davido, Rema and Diamond Platnumz.

In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic and global injustice inspired Papa Gora to release the “In Dis Day-n-Age” EP. This five-track project reflects the intensity of that period. During the isolation he worked intensively on his art, which culminated in his first official album “The Feel”.

This 13-song album, rich in emotion and melody, won the Cincinnati Album of the Year award, further expanding his fame.

In 2021, Papa Gora toured the United States with DJ Calvino, ultimately turning down a contract offer from Empire to remain independent.

The following year he released the EP “Born 2 be Gr8” for his 28th birthday. This eight-song project was once again awarded Album of the Year in Cincinnati. Singles such as “Mama Told Me” and “Lil Bro” strengthened his bond with his family and fans, allowing him to launch his career with artists such as Wally Seck.

With support from Senegal, Papa Gora began rapping in Wolof, his native language. The move widened his global audience. Her single “Ana Sama Xaali$$” caused a real buzz in Senegal, gathering more than 10 guest artists.
