Like the end of June, the month of July begins with particularly turbulent weather in certain parts of the country. Faced with heavy rain and the risk of flooding, Météo France put several regions on alert at the beginning of the week.
For this Monday, July 1, Météo France has placed the department on an orange flood alert. This is Haute-Marne. The Met Office has also put 14 other departments on yellow warning level for floods and storms.
Caution due to the risk of strong storms applies to Var, Alpes-Maritimes, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes. As for the yellow flood warning, it applies to Savoie, Isère, Cher, Indre, Haute-Saône, Vosges, Bas-Rhin, Meuse, Marne as well as the Ardennes.
This Monday morning, the south, center and northeast of France therefore found themselves under the rain. Elsewhere, although a thick cloud layer is present in most regions, the weather remains dry.
As for the temperatures, the minimum is 14 degrees and is recorded in Brittany. As for the maximum, they reached 23 degrees, and were recorded near Montpellier and Corsica.
During the afternoon, turbulent weather will persist in all areas from the extreme southwest to the northeast. In addition to bad weather, temperatures also remain below seasonal norms in the vast majority of regions.
In Brittany, Normandy and in the north, the values will not exceed 20°C throughout the day. It is the coast of the Mediterranean Sea that will record the highest temperatures. 29°C is expected near Montpellier.
Rainy weather on the agenda for the next few days
In the evening, the rain should thin out, but a strong storm will affect the extreme southeast and Corsica. From Tuesday morning, a new depression will arrive from the north of the country.
Thus, all regions from the capital to Lille will be under the rain. During the hours, precipitation will cover almost the entire northern half of France, only Brittany and Normandy will be spared.
This kind of rainy weather will last during the day on Tuesday and also on Wednesday. THURSDAY, a new disorder will also arrive from the northwest of the country.
