Amazon is not afraid of competition. Despite having its own cloud gaming service Luna – launched in France last November – the e-commerce and entertainment giant is preparing to partner with one of the market leaders. Famous Xbox Cloud Gaming has become one of the most popular services among gamers.
Its inclusion in the subscription Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (charged €14.99 per month) greatly contributed to its democratization. In addition to being one of the best-stocked catalogs on the market, Game Pass can therefore be exported to all kinds of platforms.
Smartphones, tablets, computers and even Samsung TVs : Microsoft’s approach to cloud gaming is certainly one of the most intuitive.
However, not all gamers have the ambition to invest in a high-end flat screen to enjoy Game Pass on their TV. To overcome this limitation, a new low-cost alternative will allow access to cloud games from any screen.
No doubt you understood: Amazon and Xbox are preparing to put a special app on Fire TV devices. We will explain how to prepare for the arrival of this service.
Only two compatible models
Xbox reveals it its Fire TV app will launch next July, without further details. Since this month starts in a few days, the date should not be late. Press release states, however, that the service will only be available to owners Fire TV Stick 4K (€69.99) and 4K max (€79.99).
If you have a Classic or Lite Fire TV Stick, you’ll need to upgrade to the next model to play Game Pass on your TV.
Once you equip it with the correct device, the instructions are simple. All you have to do is connect to your Xbox account from the app.
Subscribers will be able to get started without further delay, while newcomers will be able to subscribe directly from the interface.
When it comes to the controller, gamers will be spoiled for choice. All controllers equipped with Bluetooth technology can be connected to the TV Stick 4K.
So everyone can freely use their favorite accessories. While it’s recommended to use an Xbox controller for in-game button distribution, DualSense, Dualshock 4 controllers, or even a Switch pro controller will all be compatible.
Players with disabilities will also be able to use their adaptive controller, whether it’s a from Xbox or PlayStation.
